Barefoot and Journey have collaborated on quite a few centres over the last few years, and we pride ourselves on designing and creating educational and beautiful scapes for the children in their care. The Bacchus Marsh centre is no exception.
Deep in the heart of the valley, situated between Melbourne and Ballarat and known as a peri-urban setting, Bacchus Marsh is a mix of rich pastoral fields and aesthetically pleasing residential estates.
Journey ELC is a wonderful mix of both, combining the natural earth tones of the surrounding basalt region and colours of native wattles and banksias, indigenous to the area.
The playscape is an immersive adventure for the centre attendees, mixing waterplay areas, tactile surfacing and age-appropriate sporting fields. Raised steppers and forts encourage risky play and inspire confidence and mud kitchens let children do what they do, get dirty whilst having a ball!
